Around 700 people staged a protest outside the US embassy here this afternoon over president Donald Trump’s expected visit to Malaysia for the 47th Asean Summit.
Amid heavy police presence, including the Federal Reserve Unit, the demonstrators were heard chanting “Reject Donald Trump”, with some carrying placards telling him to “go home”.
The participants, including several carrying Palestinian flags, also chanted “Long live Hezbollah” and “Long live Hamas”.
Former PKR MP Tian Chua, who was present, vowed to use the Asean forum to speak out against Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.
He urged rally-goers to attend the planned gathering on Sunday, the day Trump is expected to arrive in Malaysia.
