After the death of his father and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ben Stiller began searching for meaning and clarity in his life.
The 59-year-old actor and director, whose documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost premiered at the New York Film Festival on October 5, 2025, shared that the idea for the film—centered on his comedian parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara—began to take shape following his father’s passing in 2020.
Although his career remained steady, Stiller admitted that his personal life was facing challenges at the time. He shares two children with his wife, Christine Taylor.
Following its premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 5, 2025, Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost will be shown in select theaters starting October 17 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ beginning October 24.
