
Chinese conglomerate Rianlon Corporation will invest RM820 million to establish a research and development (R&D) centre and factory in Johor, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today.
He said the project is expected to generate high-skilled jobs and strengthen Malaysia’s technology sector.
Rianlon, headquartered in Tianjin, is a global producer of anti-ageing additives for polymers and cosmetics.
The company’s commitment was conveyed during Anwar’s meeting with its chairman and CEO, Li Haiping, and chief technology officer, Sun Chunguang.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, also met with executives from China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC), including chairman Song Hailiang and vice-president Chen Zhong, to discuss ongoing cooperation.
