‘Conjuring: Last Rites’ is the Second Biggest Global Horror Opening Ever With $187 Million

The Conjuring: Last Rites pulled in a massive $187 million globally during opening weekend. This not only marks the best start for a Conjuring movie theatrically, but the second-biggest global box office debut for a horror movie ever, with only 2017’s It ahead with $190 million.

The Conjuring Universe showcases a dramatization of the real-life adventures of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are also a married couple. The franchise kicked off with 2013’s The Conjuring, marking its start as one of the leading supernatural horror franchises.
