The cheeky minions are back, and bound to make you laugh!
When you want something in life, you’ve got to fight for it. Even if it is to become a supervillain.
Minions: The Rise Of Gru is a funny, laidback film that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. It’s nothing complicated. The minions are funny, without even uttering a single word. They help Gru, and at the same time, become a burden.
Gru might be young (and small) but his passion to chase his dreams is evident in this fun film produced by Illumination Entertainment.
In this film, the story is more inclined towards Gru and what he wants to become, and that is a supervillain for a group called “The Vicious 6”. Gru is portrayed as a naive, impressionable boy, yet at the same time wise for his age.
Things happen quickly in this film. The momentum is fast, designed to keep you at the edge of your seats. Things are happening to different characters, who are all desperately trying to achieve their goals.
That’s also what’s fun about this Minions movie. Despite not exactly knowing what they’re saying, the combination of “gibberish” language and mishap will make you laugh throughout.
In fact, if you pay attention, you will even hear one of the Minions saying Malay words. This, pointed out by popular food vlogger, Ceddy Ang.

So take your entire family to see this one. What makes this one interesting is when you realize these villains, deep down inside, aren’t really evil at all. They simply want to be loved and wanted. Hence, the existence of The Vicious 6. Despite Gru already having his Minion friends, he decided that he wanted more.
However, at the end of the day, Gru learns a powerful lesson; that even in the worst of situations, things can get better with the help of friends.
