It’s the First Monday in May! ✨
There’s no #MetGala today—this photo is from 2019!—but the 2021 #CostumeInstitute Benefit will be held on Monday, September 13 (subject to government guidelines), with co-chairs Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, and Naomi Osaka. pic.twitter.com/2gxhwCJARx

The Costume Institute Gala, popularly known as The Met Ball or Met Gala, is a fundraiser dedicated to The Anna Wintour Costume Center at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, which pays homage to American Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. Wintour has been a chair member of the museum’s gala since 1995.
The night will be split into two corresponding galas, announced the museum. The first of the two “more intimate” events will take place on September 13, 2021, and the other on May 2, 2022. Fret not the organisers said the September event will adhere to their local government COVID-19 restrictions however, they hope to host a larger group of guests in the 2022 Met Gala – including the exclusive night’s typical 550-person headcount.
Billie Eilish has a lot on her busy schedule as the release of her second album Happier Than Ever will be out on July 30.
