Dwayne Johnson & Tyrese Gibson Have “Peaced Up” After 3 Years of Feuding; But How Did It Start?

Okay, so, here’s the tea.

Back in 2017, the Fast & Furious franchise announced that they were going to add onto the F&F line with the release of “Hobbs & Shaw”. The spinoff was set after the events of 2017’s ‘The Fate of the Furious’. It focused on Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s roles from the main series as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw while also adding Idris Elba onto the slate. However, plans for the spinoff then meant that the release of Fast & Furious 9 would then be delayed from April 19, 2019, to April 10, 2020. Following the announcement, singer Tyrese Gibson (who plays Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious films) left an angry comment on a post from Johnson, stating:

“If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter – I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about – I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that a family……. We don’t fly solo.”

He even went on to share this photo with an equally angry (and threatening) caption.

Nevertheless, in a recent appearance on the digital interview series ‘Stir Crazy With Josh Horowitz’, Gibson address the feud. He confirms that the two are now back on good terms.

After connecting a few weeks ago, the 41-year-old actor shared:

“Me and The Rock peaced up, by the way. We talked for four hours about three weeks ago. . . . It was great. What’s interesting about The Fast and the Furious is it’s not about any of us individually. We’re like the UN at this point. Everyone gets to go to the theater and say ‘he and she looks like me.'”

It is said that ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ was the franchises attempt at bolstering the franchise following the less-than-stellar performance of  ‘The Fate of the Furious’. Unfortunately, fans of the franchise will have to wait for the ninth instalment, dubbed ‘F9’, will be delayed another year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
