This is DaBaby:
You know: “Pop stars (Go), Dua Lipa with DaBaby”?
This is JoJo Siwa:
Of ‘Dance Moms’ and Nickelodeon fame.
In what world do these two collide and why on Earth would they be beefing? Turns out: in the world of misunderstandings!
It all started with DaBaby dropping a new music video called “Beatbox Freestyle”, in which Jonathan Lyndale Kirk (his real name) introduces a remix of the viral 2020 track “Beat Box” by SpotEmGottem. Now, halfway through the track (At around 1:05), DaBaby holds up a picture of JoJo Siwa on his phone and raps,
“you a b****, JoJo Siwa, b****.”
Obviously, this caused some uproar – DaBaby is 29, with no apparent connection to the 17-year-old Nickelodeon star; so why was he coming at her? Twitter had a field day reacting to the diss, rallying around the young star.

DaBaby has since responded to the alleged beef, saying that it was actually “word play”, not a diss! To explain, DaBaby’s real name is “Jonathan” hence the “JoJo” while “Siwa” was a twist on the words, “see why”. So in all, DaBaby was rapping:
“Jonathan see why.”
He also addressed Siwa directly, explaining that he would never “have a problem” with her, seeing as to how his young daughter was a fan of hers.
@itsjojosiwa my 3 year old princess is your number 1 fan. I bought her every product you have out. She think she you.😂
Don’t let em trick you into thinking id ever have a problem with you. My word play just went over their heads.
All love on my end shawty, Keep shinning! 💝

The North Carolina native went on to punctuate his point by responding to a fan’s tweet with the wordplay:
? I don’t “Siwa” they so mad either bae. https://t.co/OhdJyNi9aK

Meanwhile, Siwa herself yet addressed or responded to the news BUT she did like a tweet on February 21 that that added “boss” to the “b****” lyric – so we know she knows what’s up.
Well, I guess that’s that!
