Going into labour isn’t for the faint of heart but in actress Troian Bellisario’s case, it’s a whole different ball game…
While on Katie Lowes’ podcast, Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams detailed their daughter Elliot’s shocking birth story — recalling “scary moments” during her pregnancy and a frightening experience during her 20-week scan when a doctor shared a potential concern about the baby’s heart, which thankfully turned out to be a “false alarm.”
Adams, star of Suits, said that he had been away for filming in Toronto shortly before Bellisario was due to go into labour. The couple wasn’t too worried as their first child, Aurora, arrived a week later than expected. But as fate would have it, the night Adams got home, Bellisario realised she was actually going into labour.
As she noted on the podcast,
“My windows between contractions were getting shorter.”
Fortunately, they made it to the hospital’s parking lot but that’s when Bellisario started “screaming” and got on her hands and knees in the passenger’s seat and “crapped my pants.”
Bellisario shared,
“I scream, ‘Get my pants off! Pull my pants down!'”
And as soon as he did, Adams saw their baby’s head. After a total of four minutes and a few pushes, sweet baby Elliot was born.
The star even posted a photo of the very parking lot on Instagram, with a caption saying,
“That’s it. Right there was where our daughter was born.”
“And she’s wailing,” Bellisario recalled, “so I’m like, ‘She’s alive, she’s OK, she’s breathing.'”
Could this inspire a movie subplot one day? Let’s wait and see!
