He’s as gorgeous now as he was then and my ’00s teen heart can’t take it.
In 2005, we were introduced to the land of Narnia, in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. Now, while the 2005 adaptation of the movie wasn’t the first time the hugely popular books by British author C. S. Lewis had been adapted into film (in fact, there have been plays, animations and other films before it), it’s the one our generation (90s babies FTW!) remember most. Unfortunately, unlike the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise – which saw all the books developed into movies in its entirety – we only got to see three of the seven books (‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,’ ‘Prince Caspian,’ and ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’) brought to life. That didn’t stop us from falling in love with the cast of the movies who made up the Pensive siblings.

But one other standout casting is that of Prince Caspian, from the second instalment of the franchise – released in 2008. The person who took on the role of the troubled Telmarine prince was then 26-year-old British actor and singer, Ben Barnes. Barnes, whose character had a high-school like rivalry with William Moseley’s Peter Pevensie, soon also started a real-life fight between fans: Team Caspian vs Team Peter.

Well, if you were Team Caspian, here’s a treat for you. The now 39-year-old actor has returned to steal our hearts in Netflix’s latest fantasy series, ‘Shadow and Bone’.
And we’re happy to report that the teen heartthrob – who was also a hunk back then – is still a full-blown hunk. Just… YES.

Of course, Barnes hasn’t been completely out of the limelight. He was cast alongside Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana in ‘The Words’ (2012) and ‘The Big Wedding’ (2013), whose cast included Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Topher Grace, Amanda Seyfried, Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams. In 2016, Barnes was cast as Billy Russo in the Marvel Netflix’s series ‘The Punisher’. His most recent casing as General Kirigan in ‘Shadow and Bone’, however, has brought the focus back on the actor and his iconic role as Prince Caspian.
