While most newborns might never get the chance to meet the longest-reigning monarch in British history, all it takes for baby Lili is a quick video call.
Then again, she IS the daughter of Prince Harry!
Queen Elizabeth II was one of the first people in Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s family to be introduced to their newborn daughter, who was welcomed to the world last Friday. The couple reportedly called Her Majesty soon after returning home from the hospital over the weekend.
“[Prince Harry and Meghan] were very excited and couldn’t wait to share that their daughter arrived,” a source said.
You should know that the adorable little girl has a special connection to her great-grandmother. How? Her first name, Lilibet, is a family nickname the monarch was often called growing up, especially by her late husband, Prince Philip who sadly passed away a few months ago. Lili marks the 11th great-grandchild for the queen.
Per the Sussexes’ press secretary, the couple are at home in Santa Barbara adjusting to their new life as a family of four, and are expected to take 20 weeks of parental leave from work in order to settle in with their new baby girl.
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, baby Lili’s brother, is happily adjusting to his new role as big brother.

“They prepared Archie by talking a lot about the baby. He is too little to understand though,” a source said. “He is big enough though that he is now starting to have his own life too. He enjoys preschool and outdoor activities. He will have a fun summer. Meghan and Harry are also taking time off to focus on their family.”
