Bridgerton is the new Netflix’s hit series that got everyone talking. The sexy period drama, based on Julia Quinn’s romance novel The Duke And I, features a love story for the ages between Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings. Phoebe Dynevor, stars as the gorgeous and lovely Daphne Bridgerton alongside Regé-Jean Page’s Simon. The role of Daphne is definitely Phoebe’s breakout role. So, who exactly is she? Here’s what you should know.
1. Phoebe started acting at a young age. Phoebe got her first role in 2009 at the age of 14 in Waterloo Road. She played Siobhan Mailey in season 5 of the British TV series. Prior to nabbing the role, Phoebe attended the Cheadle Hulme School in England.
2. Her mother is an actress! Phoebe is the daughter of Sally Dynevor. Sally is best known for her role as Sally Webster in the ITV soap Coronation Street. Sally has starred in the series since 1986. Phoebe’s father, Tim Dynevor, is a screenwriter.
3. She also has a role in the fan-favorite series Younger. Phoebe plays the recurring role of Clare, the woman Josh had a child with in season 6. Phoebe also starred in the crime comedy series Snatch with Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint.
4. Phoebe will likely return as Daphne if Bridgerton gets renewed. There are 7 other books in Julia’s Bridgerton book series. The other books focus on the other Bridgerton children, but Daphne is still very much a part of the story.
5. There were intimacy coordinators on set for those sexy scenes. The blossoming love story between Daphne and Simon in Bridgerton features very intimate love scenes. Phoebe revealed to Glamour that the intimacy coordinators had her and Regé-Jean “go through every single scene before we’d shoot it. We rehearsed everything like a fight scene, so I knew exactly where Regé was going to put his hand and at what point; it really frees you up, because there isn’t that weird thing of, ‘Oh, what’s he going to do now?’”
