Most K-Pop stars keep their personal lives private, which can sometimes leave their fans wondering what their favourite idol’s background and familial ties are like. Coming from different backgrounds, idols have built themselves from scratch in hopes of standing out among their competitors in the field. Now, while some may have gone against their parents will to chase their dreams and make a name for themselves in the K-pop scene, for others, talent initially ran in the family. 1. Jeongyeon – TWICE

The talented singer is one of many K-Pop stars who share the limelight with celebrity siblings. In fact, well-known actress Gong Seung Yeon is her older sister. The sisters have worked together on projects, when they hosted Inkigayo from July 3, 2016, to January 22, 2017.
2. Chaewon – IZ*ONE

It seems that Chaewon got some of her musical talents from her mother, Lee Ran Hee, who is a musical theatre actress. While Kim Chae-won made her debut in Iz*One after winning a nationwide audition programme in 2018, her mother has been hard at work in the entertainment field for over 30 years! In South Korea actress Lee Ran-hee is a veteran and a skilful theatre performer.
3. Sieun – StayC

Sieun on the other hand was introduced to the public at a very young age, having appeared in Kids are Life’s Blessings in 2014, a South Korean reality show that covered the family life of celebrity children. This is because Sieun’s father was none other than veteran performer Park Nam-jung, affectionately known as “South Korea’s Michael Jackson” in the 1980s. Yup, she comes from a bloodline of pure talent!
4. Hyunsik – BTOB

Hyunsik made his family proud by carrying on his father’s long-loved legacy, as his father is well-known folk singer Im Ji Hoon.
5. Sorn – CLC

The Thai-born, South Korea-based idol hails from a pedigree family, which simply means she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Before Sorn was signed under Cube Entertainment, she had a lavish childhood in Thailand, attending the best international schools. Sorn personally revealed on television that her father is Wanasthana Sajakul, a Thai actor who is now a well-known member of parliament.
