Technology makes dating easier, but somehow technology has also created some bad habits—a lot of social behavior that wasn’t acceptable in the past has become the norm. But the more you try to figure out technology, the more you hear people complaining about the current state of dating. Especially when there’s a lot of dating apps involved.
However, two of the biggest trends that are likely to be experienced—and complained about—by dudes and dudettes today are zombieing and ghosting. Hear me out, it is not the same. Nothing seems scarier than these two, trust me. Here’s how to know if you’re in a zombie situationship:
What is zombieing?
Let’s just say it’s a term for someone that ‘’rising from the dead’’. To be zombied is to have someone you care about disappear from your life, only to have them popped back up in your life with an out-of-the-blue text or a ‘’like’’ on social media.
For example, you didn’t hear from this person for months and you thought you’ve already gotten over them but suddenly they slide back into your DM’s out of nowhere. They’re kind of zombie their way back into your life, how scary is that? Truth is, they either looking for a rebound or just straight up using you for their personal advantages. Block them.
So, what is ghosting?
That person whom you thought you potentially had a future with? Suddenly vanishes from your life completely without warning. Simply put, ghosting is when you get dumped via vanishing act. No more calls, no more texts, no responses to attempts at communications, no nothing—complete radio silence. That’s how the word ‘ghosting’ came about, because they could be dead.. And you just don’t know it yet.
