Y’all remember Cosmo the Space Dog right?
It seems like James Gunn has received backlash for integrating Cosmo in the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy as a female dog, when she is a male dog in the comics.

Gunn, who is no stranger to clapping back at criticisms on Twitter, responds back.
Because Cosmo is based on Laika, the Russian dog, who was a female, so I gender-swapped her back.

For those not in the know, Laika was a Soviet space dog. She was one of the first animals in space and was the first to orbit the Earth. She died in space and is revered to as a great loss and sacrifice for science.
