The much-anticipated biopic on the late King of Pop, Michael, pulled off a moon walk at the worldwide box office with a whopping $217.4 million, according to Sunday estimates.
Helmed by director Antoine Fuqua, Michael boasts the biggest domestic opening of all time for any biopic, even speed-running past Oppenheimer, which sat at $80 million.
The film follows the larger-than-life star Michael Jackson from his early days in the Jackson 5 in the 1960s to his rise in fame, and is portrayed by none other than his own nephew, Jaafar Jackson.
