Residents in Jalan Kampung Papan, Klang, who were affected by the demolition of their houses, will receive affordable housing to be developed by Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd, menteri besar Amirudin Shari said.
He said the matter was agreed upon at a meeting this morning when the developer Melati Ehsan Consolidated Sdn Bhd agreed to hand over 2.83 hectares (seven acres) of land for a comprehensive development project.
“We will develop housing for the urban settlers … but it will take time because it involves comprehensive development,” he said.
For the time being, residents would be provided places in the Smart Sewa Skim housing project “and if there are financial problems, we can discuss it”, he said after tabling Selangor’s 2026 budget.
