Coming in from a TV series and a film to an already solid fan base of little children, this PAW Patrol film sequel sits on a mountain of potential (in both box-office and toy sales). And if you are unfamiliar with the basis of PAW Patrol, it’s about adorable puppies of multiple colours who pull their weight saving the world (here’s looking at your pets at home who laze around expecting free food).
First and foremost, the film starts with a Dora the Explorer short to warm up the youngins before the Mighty Pups take charge. Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is a sequel to its predecessor, PAW Patrol: The Movie. This time around, McKenna Grace (Captain Marvel, Annabelle Comes Home, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) steps forward as Skye, replacing Lily Bartlam from the series and the first movie.
In this sequel, the pups gain superpowers when a meteor hits Adventure City, prompting the rise of villains amidst the chaos and calling the pups to sweep in to the rescue. With its clean animation and uplifting storyline about empowerment and self-belief, this movie definitely helps to instill self-confidence and team spirit in kids, and is perfect for family viewing.
Think of this as a Marvel movie, if Marvel made animated pet films for kids below eight years old. Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian also join in the fun with their voice contribution! And it seems like another follow up film is currently in development and is scheduled for release sometime in 2026!
