Pixar is heading back to the Land of the Dead for Coco 2!
This announcement was made by Disney’s CEO Bob Iger. The sequel is still currently in early development process, and is slated for theatrical release in 2029.
“While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure,” Iger said. “And we can’t wait to share more soon.”
The plot for the film remains unknown, but Coco director Lee Unkrich is returning to direct with Adrian Molina, and Mark Nielsen, a Pixar veteran known for Toy Story 4 and Inside Out 2, will produce.
Safe to say the film will be in good hands!
