Actor Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the box-office film Barbie, is not enthused that director Greta Gerwig and Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, were snubbed in major Oscar nomination categories, saying that he is “disappointed”.
Gosling stated that he is “honoured” to be nominated for best supporting actor for “portraying a plastic doll named Ken. But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie.”
Barbie is the highest-grossing film of 2023, taking $1.44bn (£1.14bn) worldwide.
