Shariah court fines eHati counsellor RM4,000 for exposing her body

The Shah Alam shariah high court fined a counsellor for the eHati programme RM4,000 today after she pleaded guilty to exposing parts of her body at a motivational programme last year, an act deemed to have brought Islam into disrepute.

Bernama reported that syarie judge Zainal Abidin Kusmin meted out the fine, in default of a month’s jail, on Siti Zaama Rizal Boss, 49. She paid the fine.

Siti Zaama was charged with exposing her body in a manner prohibited by Islamic law at a hall in a convention centre in Shah Alam between 8pm and midnight on Sept 29, 2024.

The charge was framed under Section 10(a) of the Syariah Criminal Enactment (Selangor) 1995, which carries a fine of up to RM5,000, up to three years’ imprisonment or both upon conviction.
