Italian luxury fashion house Prada has unveiled an inner layer spacesuit that’ll be worn by NASA astronauts on the upcoming Artemis IV moon landing mission, scheduled to lift off in early 2028.
The inner-layer suit was jointly developed with Axiom Space, a Houston-based infrastructure developer that plans on building the world’s first commercial space station. It’s basically a spaceport for (extremely wealthy) people who aren’t astronauts but want to see the world beyond Earth.
Essentially a cooling garment
Dubbed the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG), it’s designed to regulate the temperature of the overall spacesuit, making it comfortable enough for astronauts to power through spacewalks lasting up to eight hours.
