Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 63, has been found guilty of orchestrating the drive-by shooting that killed hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. Davis, who was not accused of pulling the trigger, said he plans to appeal the verdict.
Prosecutors argued that Davis helped plan the attack and supplied the gun used in the shooting. They alleged his nephew, Orlando Anderson, was responsible for firing the weapon. Anderson denied involvement and was killed in an unrelated shooting in 2008.
Prosecutors said the shooting was carried out in retaliation after Anderson was involved in a fight with Shakur and members of his entourage in Las Vegas just hours before the rapper was killed.
