PETALING JAYA:

Controversial singer Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, has been remanded for six days to assist in investigations into the murder of Taiwanese social media influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin.

Dang Wangi police chief Sazalee Adam confirmed that Wee had been remanded until Nov 10.

Wee surrendered himself to the police this morning, saying he would never flee the law.

He said he had travelled to Kuala Lumpur from Johor after being summoned by the police, vowing cooperation with the investigation.

Police said yesterday that they had been unable to locate Wee following Hsieh’s death.

Hsieh reportedly met with Wee at the hotel in the capital to discuss filming a video together. He was said to have found her dead in a bathtub.

Wee was nabbed by the police on Oct 22 at the hotel, where authorities discovered nine blue pills suspected to be ecstasy in the room. He later…
