Sydney Sweeney will be playing boxer Christy Martin in a biopic!
Directed by David Michod, the biopic stars the 26-year-old actress as Hall of Fame boxer Christy Martin, 55.
“I grappled and did kickboxing from 12-19 years old,’ Sweeney says. “I’ve been itching to get back into the ring, train, and transform my body.” She also expressed how she felt ‘honored to tell Christy’s powerful story.”
According to Sweeney,
“Christy Martin not only legitimized female boxing, she overcame gender stereotypes, and fought through emotional, physical, and financial abuse.”
Sweeney has amazing standouts in her resume, including Euphoria and the recent horror film Immaculate.
