Jenna Ortega, best known for her titular role Wednesday on Netflix, has recently opened up about her failed audition…for Dune!
The actress revealed that she was 15 when she interviewed for a role in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster.
“I think it was Chani. I think it was Zendaya’s [character],” she recalled. “But they weren’t saying that – everything was very secret.”
She said that she was “really excited” to audition for Villeneuve because he is one of her “favourite filmmakers”.
Dune is based on the first half of Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name, and rose to critical acclaim with its premiere in 2021. Dune: Part Two made its debut in March this year.
Most recently, Ortega was featured in Sabrina Carpenter’s latest music video, Taste — which pays homage to the 1992 fantasy Death Becomes Her, starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn!
