The woman at the centre of Netflix’s explosive Con Mum documentary, Dionne Marie Hanna, appeared before Singapore’s State Courts on Saturday, 5 April, to face multiple fraud charges, reported the Malay Mail.

The 84-year-old British national was arrested on 28 March, just three days after the documentary began streaming. The film, which gripped viewers across the region, details how Hanna allegedly reconnected with her estranged son only to con him out of large sums of money, leaving him in financial ruin.

According to Channel News Asia (CNA), Hanna appeared in court remotely from her hospital bed at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, dressed in a striped shirt and accompanied by an investigating officer.
