Hadi confident PAS can win Selangor, Perak, Pahang in next polls
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has expressed confidence that the Islamic party can form the state governments of Selangor, Perak and Pahang in the next general election (GE16).
He said GE16 could see PAS expanding its grasp beyond its current strongholds of Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis.
“The next victories are expected to come from Pahang, Perak, and Selangor,” Hadi told delegates at the party’s 71st annual muktamar here today.
Hadi maintained that its “base states” must be defended while pushing the Islamic agenda forward.
The former Terengganu menteri besar also urged PAS’s youth and women’s wings to go beyond traditional voter bases and attract support from fringe groups, including non-Muslims open to the party’s Islamic values.
