Robert Redford; Hollywood Legend Dies at 89

Robert Redford — the legendary actor, director, and producer celebrated for both his classic Hollywood roles and his lasting impact on independent filmmaking — has died at the age of 89.

Redford, whose on-screen career spanned decades, was known for acclaimed performances in films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, All the President’s Men, and Out of Africa. Beyond his acting, he left an enduring legacy as the founder of the Sundance Institute, a driving force behind the growth of independent cinema. He was also most notably known by the younger generation for his work in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Alexander Pierce.

Redford passed away peacefully at his home in Sundance, Utah.
