A 16-year-old female student was stabbed to death by a 14-year-old male student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, last week.
PETALING JAYA:

The remand order for the suspect detained in connection with the fatal stabbing at a secondary school in Bandar Utama has been extended for another week.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said the magistrates’ court here granted the extension this morning, allowing the suspect to be held until next Tuesday, Berita Harian reported.

His earlier remand order ended today.

A 16-year-old girl, Yap Shing Xuen, was fatally stabbed at her school in Bandar Utama last Tuesday.

The suspect, a 14-year-old male student who was also the victim’s schoolmate, was arrested on the same day.

Police also seized two sharp weapons found in the suspect’s possession, believed to have been used in the attack.
