In Taichung, Taiwan, an unassuming laundromat quietly hummed along for decades under the careful ownership of Hsu Sho-Er and Chang Wan-Ji. They ran the business with steady hands, welcoming customers, collecting garments, and forging a life of modest but safe routine.
But in June 2020, when most businesses around the world saw a dip in footfall thanks to lockdowns and social distancing regulations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple shot to online fame.
