Teen in Bandar Utama school killing charged with murder
A 14-year-old student of a secondary school in Bandar Utama has been charged at the magistrates’ court here today with the murder of a female schoolmate.
FMT understands that the charge was read to him before magistrate Amira Sariaty Zainal. However, no plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
The charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The proceedings were held in camera as the case involves a juvenile.
According to the charge sheet made available to the media, the teen is accused of fatally stabbing a 16-year-old schoolmate in the girls’ toilet at SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4), here, on Oct 14 between 9.20am and 9.35am.
Deputy public prosecutors Raja Zaizul Faridah Raja Zaharudin, Aqharie Durranie Aziz and Nur Sabrina Zubairi handled the prosecution.
