
Sarawak is waiting for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to begin negotiations on increasing its number of parliamentary seats.
Premier Abang Johari Openg said the state government welcomed Anwar’s statement on Sunday that the federal government has decided to add more parliamentary seats for Sabah and Sarawak ahead of the next general election.
Abang Johari said it is up to the federal government to organise any meeting with its counterparts in Sarawak to discuss increasing the number of parliamentary seats for the state, The Borneo Post reported.
