
A video circulating online appears to show a warehouse worker setting fire to packaging inside a Kimberly-Clark distribution centre in Ontario, California, while voicing frustration over wages.
In the clip, he says: “All you had to do was pay us enough to f*cking live.”
It was reported that the fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a massive facility storing products like Kleenex, Huggies, and Cottonelle. By sunrise, roughly 1.2 million square feet of warehouse space had been destroyed.
The roof collapsed, and the situation escalated to six alarms as around 175 firefighters were forced into an exterior containment approach after conditions inside became too dangerous to tackle directly.
Authorities have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Chamel Abdulkarim. He has been arrested on multiple felony arson charges and is currently being held without bail.
