Malaysia might get a new national carrier very soon

The days of Malaysia’s national carrier – Malaysia Airlines (MAS) – are numbered.

The troubled airline, which held the title for over 50 years, might be retiring and replaced.

Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional (KN), a sovereign wealth fund, stated that if MAS were to close down, it would appoint Firefly the new national airline, according to KN Head Shahril Ridza Ridzuan.
