Malaysian Sensational Girl Band ”Dolla” Has Entered International Market

today4 November 2020

Background

Since dropping their debut single, Make You Wanna in March, the new girl band, Dolla has managed to rock the Malaysian music industry with their own concept in song, style and performance on par with international Kpop’s girl group, BLACKPINK.

Although Dolla’s name is still new in the Malaysian music industry, the group which consist of four beautiful girls; Sabrina or Sabronzo, Tabby, Angel and Syasya, has already managed to gather their own fans who referred to themselves as ‘iDOLLA’.

Though, it’s only been a few months since they made their official debut, but it seems like the local girl group has been given the opportunity to bring their talents to the international arena when they were selected to collaborate with female artists from around the Southeast Asia region—to help produce a new song called ‘’Heal’’—a special project run by Star Music, a subsidiary of media conglomerate ABS- CBN based in the Philippines.

“The song, which was launched last September, is one of the special projects to convey love and unification of the people of the region in the face of uncertainty and challenging times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.’’

To further expand their musical reach, Dolla has already dropped their second single titled Impikan. Also launched with the song is the English version of the song entitled Watch Me Glow.

The song is the creation of famous composers and producers from Sweden, namely Ludwig Lindell, Daniel Caesar, Karl Oscar Gummesson who also wrote lyrics for Watch Me Glow while Impikan lyrics were written by famous Malaysian rapper, composer and producer Luca Sickta and YonnyBoii.

Commenting on songs that use the services of international songwriters who have produced several hits for K-Pop groups such as LOONA, Red Velvet, Girls’ Generation, EXO-CBX, VIXX, Boys Republic and Pentagon, Sabronzo on behalf of DOLLA said, of course they very excited to be given songs from international composers and producers who have previously produced K-Pop hits such as All Night singing Girl’s Generation.

With this opportunity, said Sabronzo, it to some extent gives us an advantage for Dolla to mark their name in the international market. Congratulations and good luck to these ladies!
