Hold your horses, it’s not yet time to say goodbye to Tessa and Hardin’s love story because it looks like the After saga just got even more interesting!
Fans can expect a Hardin Scott prequel movie, and a sequel about Hardin and Tessa’s kids on the way! A little fast? Not for these love birds. Teen Vogue recently confirmed reports that two new After movies are set to be released: a prequel, loosely based on the Before novel that follows Hardin Scott’s early years, and a next-generation movie, that will follow Hardin and Tessa’s children.

Director Castille Landon, who worked on both After We Fell and After Ever Happy, will return to the franchise as both writer and director for the projects.
“The After universe just keeps expanding,” Landon said. “The fandom, and how excited they are and their input, it really does inspire us all as creators every single day.”
The prequel movie will be loosely based on the source material referring to the book, with Landon telling Teen Vogue that it will be a “larger conversation” tied to what happens in Before, with a more expanded plot.

Teen Vogue also reports that Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who portrayed Hardin Scott in the first four After movies, will not reprise his role in the prequel as it features a younger version of Hardin. The next-generation sequel will focus on Tessa and Hardin’s children, Emery and Auden, and their cousin Addy. Landon stated:
“Emery, Auden, and Addy are quite beloved by the fans. We’ve all gotten a lot of inquiries about what happens with the kids. It’s really amazing actually to see how interested the fanbase is in those characters, even though they are really only superficially introduced in the books. People have latched onto them because of their love for Hardin and Tessa.”

Both films will shoot back to back later this year, however, fans fret not as you do get to see Hardin and Tessa back on your screens very soon with the upcoming sequel After We Fell, which is set to be released later in 2021.
