With the release of ‘Folklore’ and ‘Fearless (Taylor’s version)’, Miss Swift is probably the most productive artist during the pandemic. When does the girl even sleep???
Anyway, Swift is about to make 2021 her year as she is set to become the first female artist and the first non-English to receive the award of Global Icon at the 2021 Brit Awards, which will be held on Tuesday, May 11. This is an enormous deal as the Brits characterise this as their highest accolade. The only previous recipients are Sir Elton John (2014), David Bowie (2016), and Robbie Williams (2017).
To be up in the same list as these legends? It’s beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.

The award is given “in recognition of her immense impact on music across the world and incredible repertoire and achievements to date.” Besides Global Icon, the ‘Lover’ singer-songwriter is also nominated for International Female Solo Artist, an award she already grabbed back in 2015. This time around, she will be competing against powerhouses such as Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B and Miley Cyrus. Out of six nominations, that 2015 win is her only Brit Award to date.
