This is a reminder to always, always fact check and NEVER spread fake, unverified information!
We all know there are only two ways to prevent one’s self from contracting the COVID-19 virus; by strictly abiding by the SOPs set by the government, and getting vaccinated. Unfortunately, this elderly man was misinformed of the ways. A video that was shared by Twitter user @exploreasyraf shows an elderly man mixing bleach with his drink.

Although most of what he says in the 1-minute 16-second video is inaudible, we understood enough to conclude that he believes once the bleach enters your body, it will eliminate the virus. What’s also interesting is that the bottle of bleach also has a sticker on it that says, “Kills COVID-19 Virus” – alluding to the fact that it’s effecting in cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.
Netizens also concluded that the liquid in the bottle of bleach was indeed legitimate as the strawberry soda that was initially dominating the plastic cup immediately disappeared following a shot of the bleach dropped in. After explaining how the bleach will help kill the virus, he downs a cup of teh tarik that also had a shot of the bleach.

The video ends with his group of friends laughing. Netizens were completely shocked to see this. Many of them acknowledging that the bleach was indeed real.

Many were also worried about the uncle’s health after drinking bleach. This user said, “Someone please contact a doctor for this uncle, it would be a pity if he passed away.”

The condition of the uncle after drinking the bleach is still unknown. While we wait for further explanation or authorities to give a statement about the video, it’s important for everyone to know that there is no better prevention for the virus than following SOPs and taking the vaccine. Visit the official Twitter of the Ministry Of Health to understand more about prevention. You can make a difference.
