Soon after Israeli airstrikes destroyed the largest bookstore in Gaza on May 18, 2021, donations came pouring in to restore the place of knowledge.
Founded by Gaza’s most well-known bookseller, Samir Mansour, the two-storey bookstore had been around for 21 years, and featured around 100,000 titles in various languages.
