Adult Swim Cuts Ties With ‘Rick and Morty’ Creator Justin Roiland, Audiences Have Mixed Reactions

Adult Swim has announced that they have ended their association with the co-creator and executive producer of Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, after he was charged for domestic abuse in Orange County.

Adult Swim is an American adult-oriented nighttime cable television channel, well-known for its distribution and production of animated series such as Rick and Morty, American Dad!, Cowboy Bebop, Futurama, and Bob’s Burgers. 

Co-creator Dan Harmon will now be the sole creator. The show is set to continue until at least season 10. 

 

According to NBC News, Roiland was charged in Orange County with one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, or deceit based on an alleged incident in 2020 with an unnamed Jane Doe that Roiland was dating.
