
Norazlan Aris made history today by becoming the first commander of the Royal Malaysian Air Force to personally lead an air display in conjunction with National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.
General Norazlan, who was appointed the 21st air chief marshal last June, showcased his skills in an Su-30MKM twin-engine fighter jet, leading a formation of 30 aircraft from the armed forces, the police, coast guard, and the fire and rescue department.
Tens of thousands of spectators watched the display, breaking into applause and cheers as many captured the moment on their mobile devices.
Norazlan said he had performed similar air displays since his early days as an operational pilot flying the Skyhawk, MiG-29, Sukhoi aircraft, and Aermacchi MB339A.
