Anwar briefs Conference of Rulers on Asean summit, Trump visit
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said he had briefed the Conference of Rulers this morning on preparations for the 47th Asean Summit and US president Donald Trump’s visit.
Anwar said he also explained the government’s position on Trump’s proposed 20-point Gaza peace plan, and provided updates on developments involving the Global Sumud Flotilla which saw 23 Malaysian volunteers detained by Israeli forces.
“We also touched on policy issues such as the government’s preparations for the budget for 2026,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the Asean Conference on Future-Ready Public Service today.
Anwar’s audience with the Conference of Rulers this morning caused the abrupt scrapping of the Prime Minister’s Question Time for today’s parliamentary session.
