LET’S be honest — I’m a Disney fan through and through. I grew up on the classics: Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid. These stories shaped my childhood.

IN the harsh mid-morning light, the brightly-painted Pandamaran flats in Jalan Sabah, Port Klang, appear oddly forlorn, their red and yellow facelift doing little to mask the wear of time.

THE birth of a child is often a moment of joy, love and hope. But for some newborns, their first moments are defined by silence, abandonment and an uncertain fate.

MUHAMMAD Nazmi “Little Chuckee” Rosli never had a single, defining moment that made him want to be a teacher. Sometimes, a calling doesn’t strike like lightning — it unfolds quietly, in the small moments that shape who you are.

PORT Klang hasn’t changed much for as long as I can remember. The old pre-war shophouses, crumbling buildings and even the once-grand Rex cinema still stand — faded but stubbornly holding on. The cinema’s glory days of screening the latest blockbusters are long gone.

THERE’S an amusing contradiction when I meet David Christopher at a bustling cafe in Subang Jaya. With just days to go before his gruelling 400km run, he nonchalantly orders a decadent frappe, topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and what looks like a suspicious drizzle of caramel sauce.

THE best (and tastiest) way to experience different cultures — without even leaving your city — is through food. Every dish has a story, packed with flavours, history, and traditions. When you try food from another country, you’re not just eating — you’re exploring a whole new world!

LIKE a homing pigeon, Professor Dr Tan Seang Lin always finds his way back. No matter how many years pass, no matter how far life takes him — through the biting winters of Montreal and through the corridors of hospitals and lecture halls — something deep within him always tugs him southward.

AS I step into the cavernous Galeri Puteh at KL Eco City Mall, the artwork practically leaps off the walls. The talent on display is a vibrant reminder that this nation is far from lacking in artists, creatives and dreamers who dare to imagine.
