
Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Bung Moktar Radin faces a six-cornered contest to defend his Lamag seat in the state election.
Bung will be challenged by Johainizamshah Johari of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Salahuddin @ Saalahuddin Anoi (Parti Impian Sabah), Saifulah Lokman (Warisan), Mazlin Madali (Perikatan Nasional) and independent candidate Ismail Ayob.
The candidates were announced by returning officer Yuesri Ismail Yusof after the nomination process at the Dewan Sri Lamag in Kinabatangan this mirning
In the last state election in September 2020, Bung won the seat with only a 661-vote majority. The constituency has 13,859 registered voters.
In Kuamut, which has 18,228 voters, Masiung Banah of GRS faces an eight-way contest.
