
Badminton legend Lee Chong Wei has been appointed as the head of the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) performance committee under the association’s long-term development plan, Tangkis 2030.
Former world No 1 Chong Wei described the appointment as a great honour and said he is fully committed to helping improve the performance of Malaysia’s national shuttlers, Berita Harian reported.
“The most important thing is to work closely with the coaching team as they have a deeper understanding of the players’ technical and performance aspects.
“Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. I need to understand what the players go through during tournaments and help them overcome the challenges they face.”
