Police are working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to remove photos of the victim and suspect in the recent school stabbing case in Bandar Utama.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said both individuals are underage, making it illegal to circulate their images under Malaysian law.
“We are working together with partner agencies, for example MCMC, to ensure that photos of the victim and the suspect do not continue to circulate on social media, because both of them are underage,” he told reporters.
MCMC has urged the public to stop sharing or uploading photos or videos related to the incident, and to delete any such content out of respect for the victim’s family and to avoid disrupting investigations.
