
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) remains firm in its decision to appeal against Fifa’s sanctions on the football body and seven mixed-heritage players, saying the international football organisation provided no evidence to support its claims.
In a statement today, FAM said it would lodge a formal appeal through the proper legal channels, adding that all supporting evidence was complete and ready for immediate submission to Fifa.
FAM said it took particular issue with several of the conclusions drawn by Fifa, especially the allegation that the players had obtained falsified documents or deliberately attempted to circumvent eligibility rules.
