“?? Don’t wanna grow upI wanna get outHey, take me away ??”
If you remember this song, you’re in a treat because a Freaky Friday sequel with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis is in the works!
Lohan has been quoted as saying,
“It is. I won’t say that yet. I don’t want to say too much, but it’s happening.”
Curtis has previously expressed ideas for the film’s direction, where she sees her character as a grandmother who switches place with Lohan’s character.
“Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who has to take care—who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma…”
The basis of Freaky Friday is a mother and daughter duo who finds themselves swapped in each other’s body. Comedy and hilarious disaster ensues with each one navigating the other’s life, literally walking a mile in each others’ shoes.
The film is based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 children’s book, which has been adapted a few times.
