This Halloween, Michael Myers is at it again!
Taking place four years after Halloween Kills, Laurie, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing up on her memoir about how she survived the terror that was Michael Myers. Myers, on the hand, hasn’t been seen since the last terror he unleashed. Enter Corey Cunningham, played by Rohan Campbell of The Hardy Boys. Corey is a sweet boy who, in a turn of events, has been painted as the town psychopath.
After losing her daughter in the previous film, the stakes are high for Laurie as she fights to protect her granddaughter and whatever else she has left in her life. Revenge is also the main theme in the film, running underneath each character’s motives and shifting their behaviors.
The pacing of the film is tight, not allowing any space for its audiences to get bored or zoned out. It’s also full of surprises and little jumpscares that will keep you entertained. And I must mention that the scenes in the dark are also well executed – the lighting was never too dark that you couldn’t see what was going on, yet also dim enough to believably convey that it was nighttime.
Now have you got your Michael Myers mask? Put it on and enjoy this flick – it’s a must see this Halloween.
